Terraria servers

Terraria is a 2D adventure game about digging, exploring, building and taking on ever tougher bosses. What starts with a copper pickaxe ends in huge set-piece fights, and it's even better with friends: on a Terraria server, people split roles, share the world and work their way through the bosses together.

Vanilla servers stick to the base game, often on Expert or Master difficulty to make fights harder. Modded servers run on tModLoader and sometimes add huge content packs such as Calamity or Thorium that nearly double the length of the adventure; you'll need the same mods as the server to join. Other servers offer adventure maps, PvP arenas or community-made game modes. On the admin side, many servers use tools like TShock to manage permissions and protect builds.

Check the game version, the mod list, the world's difficulty and how far it has progressed — a world already in Hardmode is a very different start from a fresh one. Also see which character types are allowed (classic, mediumcore or hardcore), the community's language and whether there's a Discord to organise boss fights. If you play at odd hours, a server with players across time zones keeps the world alive. Small private-style servers are also a good fit if you want to play through the bosses with a regular group. Terraria servers on TOPSPAWN are ranked by player votes: vote without an account, once every two hours per server. Hosting a server?
